Evaluating the quality and reliability of Douyin's short videos about cosmetic procedures was the goal of this investigation.
300 short videos about cosmetic surgery were acquired and screened from Douyin in August 2022. Subsequently, essential video details were extracted, the content was encoded, and the video sources were identified. Short video information's quality and dependability were scrutinized using the DISCERN instrument.
A collection of 168 short cosmetic surgery videos, featuring personal and institutional accounts, were part of the survey. The percentage of institutional accounts (47 out of 168, translating to 2798%) pales in comparison to the percentage of personal accounts (121 out of 168, equivalent to 7202%). Notably, non-health professionals received the most praise, comments, collections, and reposts, in stark contrast to for-profit academic organizations or institutions, which garnered the fewest accolades. Short videos of cosmetic surgery, numbering 168, showed DISCERN scores ranging from 374 to 458, with a mean score of 422. Significant differences exist between content reliability (p = .04) and the overall quality of short videos (p = .02). Yet, there's no discernible statistical difference in treatment selection among short videos originating from disparate sources (p = .052).
The information quality and dependability of short videos about cosmetic surgery posted on Douyin in China are, overall, satisfactory.

The effectiveness of resveratrol (RES) in preventing medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) in ovariectomized (OVX) rats treated with zoledronate (ZOL) was the subject of this research investigation. Ten rats each were divided into five groups: the SHAM group, which underwent no ovariectomy and received a placebo; the OVX group, which received an ovariectomy and a placebo; the OVX+RES group, which underwent ovariectomy and was treated with resveratrol; the OVX+ZOL group, which received an ovariectomy, a placebo and zoledronate; and the OVX+RES+ZOL group, which received an ovariectomy, resveratrol, and zoledronate. Micro-CT, histomorphometry, and immunohistochemistry were applied to the left mandibular sides for analysis. Right mandibular sides had bone marker gene expression assessed via quantitative PCR. A significant difference (p < 0.005) was observed between ZOL-treated groups and control groups, with the former exhibiting a higher percentage of necrotic bone and a lower amount of neo-formed bone. RES, administered in the context of OVX+ZOL+RES, impacted the tissue's repair mechanisms, reducing the inflammatory cell infiltration and accelerating bone development at the extraction site. The OVX-ZOL group exhibited lower immunoreactivity for osteoblasts, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and osteocalcin (OCN) compared with each of the control groups: SHAM, OVX and OVX-RES. The OXV-ZOL-RES group showed a lower cell count for osteoblasts, ALP- and OCN-expressing cells compared to the SHAM and OVX-RES groups. The ZOL treatment group exhibited a decline in the number of tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP)-positive cells compared to control groups (p < 0.005), contrasting with a rise in TRAP mRNA levels within ZOL-treated samples, whether co-administered with resveratrol or not (p < 0.005). The RES group exhibited a superior superoxide dismutase response compared to the OVX+ZOL and OVX+ZOL+RES groups, yielding a p-value less than 0.005. In retrospect, resveratrol decreased the severity of tissue damage caused by ZOL, but was unable to prevent the occurrence of MRONJ.

Denmark's mammography screening protocol for women concludes at age 69, as the perceived advantages from screening decline while the possible harm increases. Along with age, the likelihood of harm is amplified, involving the pitfalls of false positive readings, the problem of overdiagnosis, and the risks of excessive treatment. A questionnaire survey identified 24 women who expressed unsolicited concerns about the possibility of being removed from mammography screening programs because of their age. Among the conditions constituting central sensitization syndrome (CSS) are irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and restless legs syndrome (RLS). The relationship between comorbid conditions, IBS symptom severity, and quality of life in rural community settings has not been previously explored.
Employing validated questionnaires, we conducted a cross-sectional survey of patients with documented CSS diagnoses in rural primary care settings to explore the relationship between CSS diagnoses, quality of life, symptom severity, and interactions with healthcare providers. Subgroup analysis was conducted on the patient group diagnosed with IBS. Mayo Clinic's IRB has given its approval to the research study.
